Things you need
- Coconut Oil
- Olive oil
- Beeswax (buy a bar online and use it for different products)
- A piece of fruit (optional or can be substituted with cocoa powder)
- Essential oils (optional)
- An old lip balm/lip stick container (I reused my old one even though it’s plastic)
Instructions
Crush the fruit of your choice or cocoa into powder form.
On a stove, heat a pan of water. In a glass bowl add the beeswax, coconut oil, olive oil and essential oils and place it above the pan.
Gently stir and add the fruit/cocoa powder with the melted oils. Once all the oils and powder have mixed and melted, switch off the stove.
Transfer the liquid into a container of your choice. I could see the mixture solidifying within a few minutes.
You can keep it in the refrigerator for an hour for the mixture to completely solidify. Your lip balm is now ready! Ensure you keep it in a cool and dry place and enjoy!
My lip balm was watermelon flavored and very moisturizing. I never realized making beauty products was so easy. I was very satisfied knowing that what I was using was made from natural products and chemical free. I am not planning on buying a lip balm from a store any time soon!
